WATER DEFINITIONS

TYPES OF BOTTLED WATER

Bottled Water / Packaged Drinking Water / Purified Water is water that has been produced by distillation, deionization, reverse osmosis, or other suitable processes while meeting the definition of packaged drinking water / Purified Water / Bottled water in the world Other suitable product names for bottled water treated by one of the above processes include "distilled water" if it is produced by distillation, "Deionized Water" if it is produced by deionization, or "Reverse Osmosis Water" if the process used is reverse osmosis. Alternatively, "Drinking Water" can be used with one of the purifying terms defined above (e.g., "Purified Drinking Water" or "Distilled Drinking Water”)

Natural mineral water is natural water containing not less than 250 parts per million total dissolved solids. Mineral water is distinguished from other types of bottled water by its constant level and relative proportions of mineral and trace elements at the point of emergence from the source. no minerals can be added to this product.

Spring water / Mountain spring water is water derived from an underground formation from which water flows naturally to the surface of the earth. Mountain Spring / Spring water must be collected only at the spring or through a borehole tapping the underground formation feeding the spring. Mountain Spring / Spring water collected with the use of an external force must be from the same underground stratum as the spring, must have all the physical properties before treatment, and must be of the same composition and quality as the water that flows naturally to the surface of the earth.

Sparkling Water is water that, after treatment and possible replacement with carbon dioxide, contains the same amount of carbon dioxide that it had as it emerged from the source. Sparkling bottled waters may be labeled as "sparkling drinking water," "sparkling mineral water," "sparkling spring water," etc.

Artesian Water/Artesian Well Water is water from a well that taps a confined aquifer (a water-bearing underground layer of rock or sand) in which the water level stands at some height above the top of the aquifer.

Well Water is water from a hole bored, drilled, or otherwise constructed in the ground, which taps the water aquifer

PACKAGED DRINKING WATER / BOTTLED WATER

The process aims to guarantee the highest safety standards for Packaged drinking water/ Bottled water and ensure a taste that is in accordance with consumer preference.

1. Water is carefully collected and received through stainless steel pipes from either a local well /bore well or municipal water supply. Quality testing of the original source is conducted regularly to monitor for abnormalities.

2. PRE FILTRATION SYSTEM (STEP 1 TO 4) this step is taken when the water originates from a municipal or public drinking water system. It consists of removing TSS (Total suspended solids) chlorines, Pesticides and THMs (Trihalomethanes) through a daily-monitored Pressure sand silex filter, Activated carbon filtration and Pesticide removal process.

3. A water softener is used to reduce water hardness. (optional)

4. REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEM (STEP 5) A Reverse osmosis Demineralization removes unwanted minerals and pathogens. a dual pass RO is implemented to produce low TDS water i.e. 10 to 20 PPM

5. Water received in storage tanks is monitored on a daily basis. This tank is also called a Blending tank

6. Selected minerals are added to cater to consumer taste preferences. Alternately Pre filtered water at the output of the Activate carbon filter ,Pesticide filter is used to blend and raise TDS and remineralize water

7. POST FILTRATION. ( STEP 6 TO 11) Pharmaceutical grade micro-filtration removes particles as small as 0.2 microns. It is also capable of removing potential microbiological contaminants. This is monitored on an hourly basis. A three pass sub micron filtration system is implemented 1 micron, 0.45 micron and 0.2 micron.

8. Ultra-violet sterilizer provides additional product disinfection. This is monitored on an hourly basis. A dual pass system is used to achive highest disinfection rates

9. POST PACKAGING PROTECTION. (STEP 12 ) Ozone disinfection is the most powerful disinfection system, using a highly reactive form of oxygen. This is monitored on an hourly basis. Ozone assures post packaging protection

10. The filling room is highly sanitary to ensure bottling is conducted in a microbiologically controlled environment. It is continuously monitored and controlled. A class 10000 sterile room is created with the help of Air Handling system , Positive Air Pressure and Hepa filter

11. Packaging quality assurance is conducted by human inspection and the latest in modern equipment designed to ensure the removal of any packaging defects.

12. Line sanitation includes (CIP) automated cleaning equipment to ensure maximum cleanliness, effectiveness and control.
